The all-new Heritage Collection is just one of the newest product lines being manufactured at the recently expanded E.C.D. headquarters in Kissimmee, Florida, known as the Rover Dome. In this pristine automotive assemble environment, E.C.D. team members build each vehicle with efficiency and precision. East Coast Defender Premieres Two Powerful Truck Builds in a California Versus Florida Great Debate

Kissimmee, Fl: (December 4, 2017): East Coast Defender (E.C.D.), the award-winning automotive group, today unveiled the first pair of powerful trucks simultaneously designed in Design Centers on opposite coasts before traveling through the build process, side by side, at the Rover Dome in Kissimmee, Florida.

California versus Florida, it’s the great debate.  As different as the weather, these two vehicles showcase the versatility of a custom Land Rover Defender by East Coast Defender and go the extra mile towards capturing the top spot as possibly the greatest things ever, to come out of either of these two beachy states.

“These two truck builds have been both thrilling and challenging all at once, but each of them represents something special, “states Scott Wallace, East Coast Defender Co-Owner.  “While this isn’t an East Coast-West Coast rivalry, we offer our clients thousands of design possibilities and we think it’s going to be interesting to see which location produces the best designs to advance the E.C.D. brand.”

From traditional trucks to sporty and rugged, E.C.D. leads the way in personalization and performance exploration when it comes to customized Land Rover Defenders and Range Rover Classics.  Our customers agree, that it is our ability to blend the utility of a truck with the versatility of a classic that sets an E.C.D. built apart.

Why build all of the vehicles in Florida?  The company’s founders determined long ago that if they wanted to become the best custom Land Rover Defender builders on the planet they would have to have complete control from start to finish.  Since that day, the team at East Coast Defender has places an immense amount of pride in each custom vehicle built at the Rover Dome in Kissimmee, Florida.

We take great pride in knowing that one of the world’s foremost heritage brands trusted E.C.D. to build a product that reflects their high standards of excellence. ‘Project Barbour’ artfully represents our scalability to design and build a custom vehicle for an international brand, as well as private owner.”

East Coast Defender’s “Project Barbour” started with a Defender 90 and is powered by a rebuilt Rover V-8 engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. ECD Introduces Custom Range Rover Classics

East Coast Defender (ECD) will ignite the demand for custom Land Rover Range Rover Classics (RRC) with its award-winning build expertise made famous by the company’s handcrafted Land Rover Defenders. Production of the first custom East Coast Defender RRC, “Project Alpha”, is underway and scheduled for completion in January 2018. All ECD Range Rover Classics will be hand built alongside the company’s Defenders at The Rover Dome in Kissimmee, Florida. East Coast Defender will begin accepting orders immediately for custom 1970-1996 Range Rover Classics.

“The Humble brothers and I decided that it was time to take the Range Rover Classic to the next level,” said Scott Wallace, East Coast Defender Co-Owner. “But, that meant we were going to have to make some immense changes to our production model. Fortunately, over the last three years we’ve been putting into place the business consistencies that would enable us to make this major leap forward with the RRC. We believe our custom models are something the market hungers for and more importantly, a vehicle that reflects the high standards to detail and quality that has become synonymous with the East Coast Defender brand. We won’t just do it good, we’ll do it great.”

East Coast Defender will serve as the pinnacle brand for custom, handcrafted RRCs. Using the same approach to hand build the RRCs as they do their award-winning Defenders, the build process begins with a client selecting the body style, drivetrain, wheels, tires, accessories, and exterior and interior colors of their custom RRC while working with ECD’s Lead Vehicle Designer. The ECD team then finds the foundation RRC vehicle and begins the build process by tearing it down to the bare chassis. Every project is then rebuilt, repainted, and reupholstered from the ground up and completely done in-house.

Custom options will include two LS-based engines, including the LS3 V-8 (430 horsepower) or LC9 (330 horsepower) paired to either an automatic or manual GM transmission, as well as ten exterior and five interior color options, along with premium leather and stitch offerings. The dashboard and console will also be upgraded to include modern technology such as WiFi connectivity and wireless phone charging.

“Our custom RRCs will be the kind of vehicle that is suited for practically anything,” said Tom Humble, East Coast Defender Co-owner. “Our clients will take the same design journey that they would with our Defenders. After touring our Design Studio at the Rover Dome or in Malibu, we’ll create digital renderings and mock ups that feature all the options selected. There really is no limit to how we can transform the RRC into an SUV that supersedes everything currently being built.”

Project Alpha will be built on a ‘95 long wheel base model that features the soft dash. This particular version was a favorite for many owners when it was first introduced. Production of the prototype vehicle began earlier this month and is scheduled for completion January 2018; it will be unveiled at East Coast Defender’s new West Coast Design studio in Malibu, California. ECD’s goal with each RRC custom build is to keep the heritage of the vehicle intact.

“Our custom RRC will bring the car to the 21st Century, without sacrificing its classic heritage and originality,” said Elliot Humble, East Coast Defender Co-owner. “We’ll make it feel much more premium by focusing on some key design elements. For example, we’ll keep the original seats, but completely rebuild them with premium leather, stitching and trim appointments. We’ll also rebuild the entire center console and integrate the latest audio and mobile technology creating a luxury treatment that is both modern and practical for everyday use. There will simply be nothing comparable on the market.”

East Coast Defender Delivers Luxury SUV Performance Excitement with Projects Ironhorse and Punisher

KISSIMMEE, FLA. – Aug 9, 2017– East Coast Defender is throttling up the excitement for award-winning custom Defenders with the announcement of two new builds, “Project Ironhorse” and “Project Punisher”. Both SUVs represent the ultimate in hand-crafted custom Defender builds that extend beyond off-road capabilities into luxury performance. The two new Defenders were completed at the Rover Dome, East Coast Defender’s national headquarters located in Kissimmee, Florida.

“Our ability to meet the growing demand for hand-crafted, custom Defenders is unmatched,” said Scott Wallace, East Coast Defender Co-Owner. “Our turn-key build process, as well as our attention to every detail sets us apart. From our on-site upholstery workshop where leather upholstery is hand-stitched to the exact specs of each client, to our in-house paint shop and drivetrain bays, literally every component of each Defender is assembled by a skilled craftsman here at the Rover Dome. Projects Ironhorse and Punisher equally illustrate our attention to detail.”

“Project Ironhorse” represents an ECD Heritage build that is a true throwback to the original. It has been rebuilt to stay as close to the original specifications, which includes a 4.6L Land Rover V8 that traces its roots back to the original Defenders. It remains true to an “old school” body style with a classic ROW dashboard and interior that sports the latest technology, including a touchscreen infotainment system and wireless charging. The heated, black leather seats combined with the diamond stitched headliner and wrapped dashboard create a luxury driving experience unlike any custom Defender on the road.

“Each custom Defender that rolls out of the Rover Dome is the ultimate in custom SUV workmanship,” said Tom Humble, East Coast Defender Co-owner. “What separates our team from other custom builders is our relentless pursuit of improving our workmanship and materials. Each Defender we build represents a new approach or material that furthers our place as the leader of custom Defender builds. Projects Ironhorse and Punisher are simply the latest in the evolution of our best-in-class standards.”

Equally as impressive as Ironhorse, Project Punisher retains its Defender heritage but is considered an ECD Custom build, being upgraded with a Puma dashboard and the latest in horsepower and refinement. Powered by a GM LC9 V8 engine, the Punisher is capable of taking on the worst of off-road conditions, yet still at home on the open highway. 18-inch black Sawtooth wheels shod with BF Goodrich All-Terrain TA K02 tires, combined with the full external roll cage and LED spot lamps give the Punisher an aggressive road presence.

“We’ve not only created a custom, luxury SUV, but a luxury client experience along with it,” said Elliot Humble, East Coast Defender Co-owner. “Every client who works with our team will find that the vehicle design process is as rewarding as driving away in their new Defender. From the initial consultation in our Design Studio, to the constant communication we provide during their build process, it’s safe to say that we’ve created a world-class experience that is unrivaled in our market.”
